Tree Removal
Safe removal of dead, damaged, and hazardous trees.
Ground out below grade so you can topsoil and seed straight over it, with surface roots chased out if you want the lawn properly back.
Overview
A stump left in a lawn is more than an eyesore. It is a mower hazard, it sends up suckers for years on some species, and it slowly becomes a nest for carpenter ants and a bed for honey fungus that can move to nearby trees.
Grinding turns it into chip. We take the stump below grade rather than flush with it, so there is room for topsoil and seed and the patch actually knits back into the lawn instead of sinking into a dish.

What To Look For
If any of this sounds like your situation, the site visit costs nothing and you will get a straight answer either way.
The Process
No surprises, and nothing starts before you have a written price in hand.
A typical residential stump on reasonable access is a morning job at most.
Mature maple and oak with wide buttress roots can run to half a day, and we will say so when we quote.
A gate under three feet wide changes which machine we can get in, so it is worth mentioning when you call.
If you have multiple stumps, doing them in one visit saves the setup twice over.
Having a tree removed as well? Grinding the stump on the same visit is almost always cheaper than a separate trip.
Other Services
Often the same visit covers more than one of these.
Safe removal of dead, damaged, and hazardous trees.
Structural pruning that keeps canopies healthy and clear.
Storm response for fallen and unstable trees.
Pricing
No surprises and no hidden extras. These are realistic ranges for Livingston County, based on the jobs we actually run.
These are ballpark ranges, not quotes. Height, access, what sits underneath the tree and its condition all move the number. The only way to get a real figure is a free on-site look, which we do at no charge.

Why we will not quote over the phone
No calculator can see your tree, your ground or what is underneath it. Anyone who gives you a firm price without looking is either guessing or planning to revise it once the saws are out. We come and look first, same day or next day where we can, and the visit costs nothing.

Local Guide
Called them, they came out, gave it a look, gave a fair price, did great work. They showed up just when they said they would (and it was HOT that day). I had a stump that I forgot to mention to them, so on the spot they said they would take care of it, and another stump which was close by. They didn't charge me for the stumps. Good equipment, knew what they were doing, and I will for sure call them again.

Near You
People look for stump grinding near me once the tree is gone and the lawn still is not usable. Access is what changes most between towns.
Fenced village gardens where machine width decides what we can bring in.
Sloped lakeside lawns needing the grade restored properly afterwards.
Large open lots where multiple stumps get cleared in one visit.
Narrow side access, often the deciding factor on the quote.
Old maple stumps with wide surface roots that need chasing out.
Uneven ground where the grind depth has to follow the slope.
Field and fence-line stumps cleared ahead of new planting.
Grouped stump work booked alongside other jobs in the area.

Common Questions
The questions we get asked most before booking this work.
Six to eight inches below grade as standard, which is enough to topsoil and seed over. Deeper if you are replanting or building on the spot, agreed before we start.
Most residential stumps are under two hours. Old maples and oaks with wide buttress roots can run to half a day.
Your call. We can backfill the hole with them, or take them away and leave clean soil ready to seed.
Grass, yes, once topsoiled. For a new tree in the same spot we grind deeper and remove more of the root mass, since leftover chip ties up nitrogen as it breaks down.
We can chase out surface roots, which is what most people actually want when the lawn is lumpy. Full root excavation is rarely worth the damage it does to the surrounding ground.
